Our transparent and proven approach

From recruitment and language training in Manila to guidance in the Netherlands. Everything arranged carefully!

Careful selection

In the Philippines, we recruit qualified healthcare professionals who deliberately choose a job as Verzorgende IG in the Netherlands. We look at work experience, motivation, a feel for language, character and the wish to build a long-term life in the Netherlands. We also carry out a careful background check.

Intensive language training

At our own language school in Manila, healthcare professionals follow more than 6 months of full-time Dutch language training. Five days a week, under the guidance of our experienced teachers, they work towards at least level B1+ and learn the language in the context of elderly care.

Long-term guidance

We carry out the entire programme from A to Z in-house. From procedures at the IND, UWV and CIBG to housing, onboarding and guidance after arrival. We stay involved afterwards too, with short lines of communication and clear agreements, so that healthcare professionals settle well into the team.

Careful recruitment & selection in the Philippines

A successful programme begins with the right people. In the Philippines, we recruit and select qualified nurses with a bachelor’s degree, relevant work experience and a passion for elderly care. They deliberately choose a future in the Netherlands and have the wish to commit to a care organisation for the long term.

We look at more than diplomas and experience. A feel for language, the ability to learn, character, a sense of responsibility and affinity with older people are at least as important. The selection process consists of several interviews, checks and assessments, and we carry out a careful background screening. During selection we give candidates extensive information about living and working in the Netherlands, including the challenges that come with a new country, a new language and a different care culture.

This way candidates start the programme with realistic expectations. That is an important reason why our approach works: more than 90% of the healthcare professionals who came to the Netherlands through Avant Talent Group since 2019 still work at the organisation where they started.

Since 2019, more than 90% of our healthcare professionals still work at the organisation where they started. That begins with honest information and careful selection in Manila.

Intensive language training before arrival in the Netherlands

Before healthcare professionals come to the Netherlands, they follow an intensive language programme of more than 6 months at our own language school in Manila. The training is full-time, 5 days a week, and is provided by our experienced Dutch teachers. The goal is at least language level B1+, with a strong focus on the language needed on the work floor in elderly care.

The lessons go beyond general Dutch. Healthcare professionals practise conversations with residents, family and colleagues, handovers, reporting and everyday situations within a care organisation. We also pay attention to Dutch care culture, social conventions, independence and working as a Verzorgende IG in the Netherlands.

During the training we follow their development closely with tests, conversations and personal guidance. Step by step, healthcare professionals build the language skills, confidence and practical preparation needed for a good start in Dutch elderly care.

A good command of the Dutch language is one of the most important pillars of our programme.

Everything well arranged

Avant Talent Group carries out the entire programme from A to Z in-house. Already during the preparation we arrange the procedures with the IND, UWV and CIBG, the diploma evaluation via IDW, housing and all practical matters surrounding the move to the Netherlands. This gives the care organisation a single point of contact, and it is always clear who is responsible for what.

After arrival, too, Avant Talent Group stays closely involved. We arrange neat, furnished housing in a location from which healthcare professionals can travel to work independently. We also help with practical steps such as registering with the municipality, a bank account, health insurance and transport. The onboarding and first period in the Netherlands ask a lot of both the healthcare professional and the care organisation, which is why we stay closely involved with evaluation meetings, additional language support and coaching where needed.

Our involvement does not stop after the start. If someone needs extra support, we take action straight away. With short lines of communication, clear agreements and a transparent way of working, Avant Talent Group stays involved until the healthcare professional has settled in well and the care organisation is satisfied with their development.

A single point of contact, clear agreements and a programme that is arranged carefully, transparently and according to the rules — from preparation to guidance.
